SeeMoreData Proof of Concept Service

This is a 3-5 day limited scope engagement involving the customer and SeeMoreData Professional Services where a senior / principal SeeMoreData consultant will be onsite working with the customer to deliver the following:

Initial setup and install of the SMD environment.

Configuration of the SMD environment.

Understanding the customer’s data distribution and data model.

Creation of the reports that have been specified in the POC Statement of Work.

On-the-job training for the customer’s technical staff, as the customer is expected to provide a technical and business resource to be available for the duration of the engagement.

Training of small group of end users for whom the proof-of-concept was to be performed.

SMD Education

SeeMoreData Education can take place either at our premises in Victoria, Australia or on site at the customer’s premises.

End user Education

End user education consists of either a series of recorded demo’s or a hands-on classroom type setting and is generally conducted over 2 hours.

Administrator Training

Administrator training is 1 day long and is generally conducted on site as a consultative activity. The charge for this is the same (1 day consulting fee) and up to 12 people can take the training at no additional charge per person.

Developer Training

Developer Training is generally conducted on site. Developer Training is 2 days long, covers Advanced Developer training and is generally conducted on site as a consultative activity. The charge for this is the same (2 day consulting fee) and up to 12 people can take the training at no additional charge per person.

Ongoing Training

For customers who have been given the correct Access onto SeeMoreData support site, there are various Web based Flash tutorials to answer questions like "How do I perform a certain task" or "what happens when …..".

Advanced SQL for IT Professionals

This is a 4 day course and once completed, gives the attendee the knowledge to be ranked amongst the top 1% in the world when it comes to SQL skills. Topics covered:

• Complex joins
• Correlated subqueries and performance considerations.
• Analytic functions (rollup, cube, rank over (partition by, etc))
• Pivot queries
• Summaries and groupings
• Appropriate usage of stored procedures and functions.
• Type conversion / casting
• Hierarchies
• In-line views
• Subsets
• Appropriate Temporary table usage
• Ability to generate SQL solutions to complex problems in Oracle, DB2 and Sql Server

The classes will have bias towards Oracle and SQL Server incorporating Oracle-like syntax and ANSI-92 SQL.

If you do not want to hire your own technical resources and prefer to ‘outsource’ the development of reports to us, we provide a fully inclusive consultancy. We can also augment your existing technical staff for those periods when the backlog seems high and the resources seem low.
