Connecting to Excel 2007

By default when windows ships, it has Excel 97-2003 compatible drivers installed. However, to connect to excel using the 2007 file format (xlsx) the 2007 specific drivers are needed.

When Excel 2007 has been installed on the machine (this is usually not the case on server hosts), the 2007 driver installed automatically as part of Office 2007, otherwise it must be be downloaded and installed separately from following location.

to check for the presence of the correct driver, please perform the following: Control Panel –> Administrator Tools→ ODBC Drivers–>Drivers Tab. Look for the presence of this driver, if it is not there, please download it from the link above

To manage a data source that connects to a 32-bit driver under 64-bit platform, use c:\windows\sysWOW64\odbcad32.exe. To manage a data source that connects to a 64-bit driver, use c:\windows\system32\odbcad32.exe.

If you use the 64-bit odbcad32.exe to configure or remove a DSN that connects to a 32-bit driver, for example, Driver do Microsoft Access (*.mdb), you will receive the following error message:
[/URL]
The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application

To resolve this error, use the 32-bit odbcad32.exe to configure or remove the DSN.
