View Full Version : License Violation, Number of direct access datasources(1) exceeds the limit(0)

I understood that the limit of the community edition was 1 data source.
I tried to connect to a local Access database using the Office ODBC driver, then selectind Access as the specific fdriver.
BI-Plus successfully connects to the local database, check connection works.
However, when OK is pressed the above erro message appears.
As I specifically want to evaluate against a specific Acces Db, this is a job stopper.

Hi Gerry
I replicated the problem. Seems we have not allowed any connections to Access datasources directly.
This is the the solution:
Create an ODBC DSN for the Access Database. When you go to Datasource configuration, click the Example and use ODBC instead of direct connection to Access.
If you now click OK, you can get past this. I also tested actually using the DSN-based datasource to create a few reports, it works perfectly!
Please let me know if this works for you.

To create ODBC Datasource for access here is the process..
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305599
To Create ODBC based datasource in BIPLUS.
Add a data-source with:
Driver Name: ODBC/Excel/Excel 2007/CSV/Text/Access - sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
Connection URL: jdbc:odbc:NORTHWIND 89
Let us know if it doesn't work.
Thanks.
